We are looking for a Safety & Compliance Engineer to advance safety and regulatory compliance by design. Responsibilities include performing safety analyses, maintaining requirements traceability, and implementing lean processes that keep teams aligned with applicable regulations and standards. The position coordinates with internal owners and external providers, manages evidence collection, and enables consistent, compliant engineering decisions. Success is defined by clear, accurate, auditable artifacts that are actively used across the engineering organization.
KEY Responsibilities:
- Assist with safety analyses and trace requirements to design and test artifacts.
- Maintain a simple regulatory gap list with owners, timelines, and evidence needs.
- Coordinate internal/external tests and gather documentation for audit readiness.
- Embed safety considerations into day-to-day engineering decisions with peers.
Experiential Background:
- BS in Engineering; exposure to functional safety or product compliance work.
- 5+ years of practical experience in safety and compliance engineering, ideally in EV or automotive industries.
- Structured thinker with strong documentation and coordination skills.
- Experience collaborating across mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
Qualified candidates working from our EV facility and HQ in Woburn, MA (20-minutes from downtown Boston) are preferred and will be prioritized. Note that only experienced and qualified candidates should apply, and also state whether they can either work fulltime in Woburn MA or are open to relocation to the NorthEast area.

Job Title and Compensation
- The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $114,000, based on full-time employment.
- Actual salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
